  John Obregon, Sales Development Manager

John Obregon was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated high school in 1980 and soon afterward enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served in a variety of assignments including 14 years of service with the U.S. Army’s Elite 82nd Airborne Division. John Obregon was also a Drill Sergeant for three years serving in a Basic Training Company and as a Drill Instructor at the U.S. Army Drill Sergeant School in Fort Jackson, S.C. His last seven years of service were in the field of Recruiting. John Obregon retired from the U.S. Army in 2003.  John Obregon joined the New York Life in March 2003 and began work in the Northern California General Office. . John is a member of the Million Dollar Round Table and is a consistent Executive Council Qualifier. John’s awards as an agent include the Centurion Award, Triple Crown, and Shared Success.   He currently resides with his wife Anna and their six year old daughter Madison. 
 
 

 
 
 Salwyn "Pip" Parker, CLU, ChFC, LUTCF, Agency Standards Consultant
 

 

 

Salwyn “Pip” Parker is native of Florida. He was a former U.S. Army Officer where he served as a Company Commander during Desert Shield/Storm. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Campbell University, NC in Computer Information Systems.  He also received several professional designations from the American College. He is married to Patricia (who is also a Partner at New York Life Insurance) and they have raised three successful adults. Sal is active in his church and family. He enjoys working out, coaching youth, mentoring young people, reading, and watching spectator sports. Sal joined New York Life Insurance Company in 1993. As an agent, Sal has always achieved Council Status.   Some of his other accomplishments: New Agent of the Year, National Sales Achievement Award, Outstanding Young Man of America, “Life Super Star”, and a Advanced Toastmaster/Communicator-Silver. As a Development Manager he excelled in showing new agents the basics of building a good business, to help them succeed. Currently, Sal covers  the El Paso and New Mexico General Offices as an Agency Standards Consultant. His purpose is to make sure “bad” things do not happen to “good” people.
